The Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library and the Arts of the
Book Collection invite historians, literary scholars, poets, artists,
publishers, and book arts enthusiasts to participate in Metaphor
Taking Shape: Poetry, Art, and the Book, a symposium to be held on
March 13 & 14, 2008, on the campus of Yale University.
Speakers are Carolee Campbell, Macy Chadwick, Steve Clay, Simon
Cutts, Johanna Drucker, Ann Lauterbach, Anna Moschovakis, C. Mikal
Oness, Kyle Schlesinger, Buzz Spector, C. D. Wright, and John Yau.
Additionally, the symposium will highlight strengths of the Yale Arts
of the Book Collection and the Modern European and American
collections at the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library in the
accompanying exhibitions:

in Dialogue at the Arts of the Book Collection
Registration is free, but required for planning purposes. The
deadline for registration is Monday, February 25, 2008. Please sign
up as soon as
possible to ensure your spot. Registration is strictly limited to
200 people because of the capacity of the venue.

The exhibition at the Beinecke Library will open on Friday, January
25 with a reception at 5pm. Please join us for that as well if you
