The Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library and the Arts of the Book Collection invite historians, literary scholars, poets, artists, publishers, and book arts enthusiasts to participate in Metaphor Taking Shape: Poetry, Art, and the Book, a symposium to be held on March 13 & 14, 2008, on the campus of Yale University. Speakers are Carolee Campbell, Macy Chadwick, Steve Clay, Simon Cutts, Johanna Drucker, Ann Lauterbach, Anna Moschovakis, C. Mikal Oness, Kyle Schlesinger, Buzz Spector, C. D. Wright, and John Yau. Additionally, the symposium will highlight strengths of the Yale Arts of the Book Collection and the Modern European and American collections at the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library in the accompanying exhibitions: Metaphor Taking Shape: Poetry, Art, and the Book at the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library The Publisher's Roundtable: Book Artists in Dialogue at the Arts of the Book Collection Registration is free, but required for planning purposes. The deadline for registration is Monday, February 25, 2008. Please sign up as soon as possible to ensure your spot.
