Dear colleagues:
At my institution we are considering ending our subscription to Artnet.com.
Although they have built the database of auction results into a valuable and
in-demand tool, we feel the pricing structure is unreasonable and
unpredictable. After exorbitant yearly increases, it may finally be too
much for our budget to bear.
I would like to hear from other institutions who may be considering or have
already taken this action. Perhaps there is a way, collectively, to
convince Artnet to offer reasonable subscription rates to libraries.
