Dear colleagues: At my institution we are considering ending our subscription to Artnet.com. Although they have built the database of auction results into a valuable and in-demand tool, we feel the pricing structure is unreasonable and unpredictable. After exorbitant yearly increases, it may finally be too much for our budget to bear. I would like to hear from other institutions who may be considering or have already taken this action. Perhaps there is a way, collectively, to convince Artnet to offer reasonable subscription rates to libraries. ________________________________________ Deborah Kempe Chief, Collections Management and Access Frick Art Reference Library, 10 East 71st St., New York, NY 10021 tel. 212 547-0658 fax 212 879-2091 [log in to unmask] ________________________________________ __________________________________________________________________ Mail submissions to [log in to unmask] For information about joining ARLIS/NA see: http://www.arlisna.org//membership.html Send administrative matters (file requests, subscription requests, etc) to [log in to unmask] ARLIS-L Archives and subscription maintenance: http://lsv.uky.edu/archives/arlis-l.html Questions may be addressed to list owner (Kerri Scannell) at: [log in to unmask]
