Thanks to Bonnie Cawthorne at U of Maryland and Gisèle Guay from the
Canadian Center for Architecture for discovering the answer to my
query! The women are the Moody sisters (Brenda, Wilma, Harriet and
Mildred). They apparently designed homes in CA resembling cottages
illustrated in English fairy tales. For those who said they wanted the
info once found, the article appears in Victoria magazine: v.3, no.2, April
1989. Many thanks to all who replied.
