TASI, The Technical Advisory Service for Images, is pleased to announce
the latest series of its highly successful hands-on image capture
workshops, suitable for all levels.
Dates
13th March Beginners Capture
14th March Intermediate Capture
20th March Intermediate Capture
21st March Advanced Capture
Workshops cost £125 for those from Higher or Further Education or £150
for those from Government, charities, libraries, galleries or museums.
Bookings can be made at http://www.tasi.ac.uk/training/bookingform.html
Beginner's Capture is aimed at those with little or no experience in
scanning or using digital cameras. You will learn about resolution, bit
depth, file types and image enhancement. You will have the opportunity
to scan, use a camera and adjust your images.
Intermediate Capture may particularly appeal to those involved at the
front line of digitisation projects, or using images in teaching. You
will calibrate your system, learn how to calculate appropriate file
sizes, compare images at varying bit-depths and consider what is
appropriate image processing.
Advanced Capture is for those who already have a competent grasp on the
basics of image capture. You will learn how Colour Management Systems
work, how images are moved between colour spaces, and capture oversize
or fragile items using a camera and stand
The workshops will be held at Bristol University and will run from 10am
'til 4.30pm.
