Subject: Season Finale of Art:21 on PBS
The last episode of "Art:21 - Art in the Twenty-First Century" airs this
Thursday, February 7th, at 9pm ET on many PBS stations (that's an hour
earlier than previous weeks). Don't miss the series Esquire called "the most
interesting art-made-accessible show we've seen so far!"
This week's episode is "Consumption," hosted by John McEnroe in a video
segment by Barbara Kruger. Artists include Michael Ray Charles, Matthew
Barney, Andrea Zittel, and Mel Chin.
If you missed the series (or it didn't run on your PBS station), never fear!
Many PBS stations taped the series for future use and will re-broadcast the
series. The best way to find out when you can see the series is by
contacting your local PBS station directly (hint: you can get the station's
address, phone, fax, and email by entering your zip code at
http://www.pbs.org/art21/calendar.html). Viewer response makes a huge
difference!
Don't want to wait? The boxed set of the entire series is also available for
only $29.98 at http://www.pbs.org/art21/series/book.html (just follow the
video link), or by calling 1-800-PLAY-PBS.
NEWS FLASH: Art:21, in conjunction with Davis Publications, is offering an
online course called "Place and Identity in Contemporary Art." The course,
which delves deeper into contemporary art via the artists presented in the
"Place" and "Identity" episodes of the Art:21 series, is being offered for
graduate credit (via Marlboro College), for teacher certification, or for
self paced, non-degree learning. To learn more, or register for the course,
go to http://www.davis-art.com/learning/index.html
We hope you enjoyed the series, and be sure to watch for emails about our
second season!
