American Art is a peer-reviewed periodical published three times per year,
in March, July and November. Articles may encompass any aspect of America's
visual heritage, including the fine arts, popular culture, photography and
electronic media, public art, architecture, and the decorative arts.
Beginning in 2004, American Art will be published in both print and
electronic editions by the University of Chicago Press for the Smithsonian
American Art Museum. While SAAM will retain editorial and design control,
the press will handle printing, distribution, marketing, and advertising.
Information about submitting manuscripts, ordering subscriptions or single
copies, and advertising symposia and other events in the journal can now be
found at "www.journals.uchicago.edu/AmArt".
