Friends of Katie's might like to know that she had major back surgery last
Monday at Stanford hospital to correct a degenerative disc problem that had
been bothering her for several years, and had gotten worse in recent
weeks. The good news is that she feels much improved and is now resting
more or less comfortably at home. Since she'll be housebound for at least
the next two weeks, I'm sure she'd love to hear from you:
