If I may share a few thoughts...

When I first went to work at the Met there were a number of
individuals who went out of their way to insure that I was welcomed
to the fold. Celine was definitely one of the sweetest. Whether as
a colleague, a lunch companion, or a co-conspirator in some
devilishness, she was always "Celine," a truly unique and lovely
person. Even the most difficult days could be lightened by the
twinkle that was often in her eyes. I will miss her tremendously.

>Dear ARLIS members:
>
>Celine Palatsky, recently retired from the Watson Library, died early
>this morning. She was a valued member of the Watson Library staff for
>29 years. Many of us saw her at the Dec. 8 ARLIS/NY Holiday Party where
>she was her remarkably perky self despite her illness of the past
>several months. Nearly all of us remember her very regular presence at
>annual ARLIS conferences. We also remember her spirit and dedication to
>our profession, as well as her enormous energy, charm and curiosity
>about all things. We will miss her.
