----------------------------Original message---------------------------- The University of Kentucky Libraries is accepting nominations and = applications for the following position: FINE ARTS LIBRARIAN The University of Kentucky Libraries seeks a full time, tenure track = librarian for the Lucille Caudill Little Fine Arts Library and Learning Center. Responsibilities of the position may include a variety of duties involved in the operation of the Library, including public service, technical services (acquisitions, cataloging, preservation), and training activities for both staff and patrons. The fine arts librarian will be a member of the Fine = Arts Libraries Team, which includes all library staff members in the art, music, = and architecture branch libraries. The Little Library is a new facility currently under renovation, which will combine the University's existing art and music libraries and the music listening center. Staff from these units will be merged to establish the Little Library team. In addition to broad coverage of art and music, the collections include arts administration and theatre arts. The UK Libraries will be moving to Endeavor=92s Voyager system in 2000. Qualifications required: Accredited MLS=3B effective oral and written communication=3B evidence of organizational and analytical skills=3B ability to work in a complex and changing environment=3B ability to work independently and = in teams=3B commitment to active professional service. Qualifications preferred: Educational background or work experience in the fields of art, music, = and/or theatre arts=3B technical services background=3B relevant experience in an academic research institution=3B experience with information technology, particularly in the fields of art or music.
