forgot to mention the first suggestions I received from colleague Bj=F6rn in
Sweden, and good suggestions they were, too:

Malevitch
Rietveld (both chair and architecture) - Mondrian inspiration
Picasso (sculptures inspired by his own cubist paintings)

This concludes, I think, the list of 3D projects inspired by 2D art works.
