Dear Colleagues,
The membership survey results are now on the ARLIS/NA web site. What
did
you tell us?

You told us leadership, professional development, conferences, and
streamlining the organizational structure are important. The complete
responses to the Member Survey can be found on the ARLIS/NA Web Site.

The Executive Board, at its Mid-Year Board meeting (held in Berkeley,
California October 1-2, 1999), worked with Task Force Co-Chair Jane
Carlin and Executive Director Howard Adler to prioritize focus areas as
well as re-think the organization of the plan. The results of our
discussions include a commitment to:

A plan which is clearly tied to the ARLIS/NA budget
A plan which is clearly and easily measurable
A plan with clear and specific time frames
A dynamic plan which raises the profile of ARLIS/NA

In the next few months we will continue to work with these concepts to
prepare a draft strategic plan. We will be contacting committees,
sections, divisions, and round tables about creating the actions steps
for our new plan and we still want, and need your input. We urge you to
join us in Pittsburgh at the AskARLIS session on Sunday, March 19 from
1:00-2:30 p.m. that will focus on moving ARLIS/NA into the 21st
Century. ARLIS/NA=92s future is in all our hands.
