Introductory essay by Harriet F. Senie, Director of Museum Studies and
Professor of Art History at The City College and Graduate Center CUNY

Interview conducted by Glenn Harper, editor of Sculpture magazine

This book is the most comprehensive look at Athena Tacha's outdoor
public art
of the past 25 years. One of the initiators of "site-specific"
architectural
sculpture, she has been a finalist in more than 135 national and
international competitions and has executed over 30 public commissions
throughout the United States, including an entire city-block park in
downtown Philadelphia.

Dancing in the Landscape is lavishly illustrated with over 200 color
photographs and extensive texts written by the sculptor, describing and
explaining over 75 of her public art projects.
The book is hardcover 9 1/4 x 9 1/4 inches, 144 pages.
It is scheduled for publication by Ariel Press in October, 2000. A
limited
number of the books will be signed by the artist and offered at a
