----------------------------Original message---------------------------- University of Houston Libraries Position Announcement: Half-time position - 20 hours(2 & 1/2 days) per week Assistant Art and Architecture Librarian Responsibilities: Provides reference service in the Architecture and Art Library and the Information/Reference Desk of the M. D. Anderson Library. Assists in the management of the Architecture and Art Library and in collection development and user education for architecture and art. Provides training in the use of the library and its resources, especially for students in architecture and art, including tours, classes, printed guides, etc. Regularly reviews and updates the Architecture and Art Library web page and assists in planning and developing changes to it. Qualifications: ALA-accredited masters degree. Art, architecture or humanities background preferred. Salary: $15,000. This is a term position with the initial appointment through 8-31-00. Library Information: The Libraries are a member of the Association of Research Libraries, hold over 2 million volumes, with a current materials budget of $4.2 million.
