On behalf of the Texas Chapter members, it is my great pleasure to announce
that the ARLIS/NA Executive Board has approved a name change for our chapter
from ARLIS/Texas to ARLIS/Texas-Mexico.
Mexico currently is the only area in North America without ARLIS/NA
representation. With the ARLIS/Texas Chapter such a close neighbor, it will
be beneficial to both groups to form a joint chapter. We greatly appreciate
the Executive Board's decision.
While we celebrate this exciting news, we have some serious issues to
address regarding this name change. The Texas Chapter Annual Meeting will be
held in Fort Worth October 7-9 (see attachment for the meeting agenda).
Members will have an opportunity at this meeting to discuss procedural
matters with respect to the name change.
