----------------------------Original message---------------------------- Notice of Position Vacancy Hamon Arts Library Southern Methodist University Title: Evening Print Circulation Supervisor (Part-Time Temporary) Salary: $7.50 / hour (25 hours per week) Hours: Sunday Thursday 5:00 p. m. 10:00 p. m. Available: Immediately DUTIES: Under the supervision of the Head of Hamon Circulation Services: Assists in the overall operation of the Hamon s main circulation desk. Operates Voyager online circulation system and its various subsystems Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates student assistants Performs searches for missing materials Monitors book stacks and makes recommendations for shifting and shelf reading Monitors condition of circulating collection Assists in preparation of statistical and other reports Assists with all duties related to overdue materials and fines QUALIFICATIONS: Required: Substantial knowledge in one of the fine arts; supervisory skills; establish and maintain effective working relationships; provide courteous and positive public relations and service; good verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively with faculty and students in the arts; ability to work with automated library system. Desired: Degree in one of the fine arts; one or more years of experience in an academic library; computer experience.
