Darley (1821-1888) will be open September 11 through November 21 at the Brandywine River Museum in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania. Organized by the prints division of the New York Public Library, this exhibition of F.O.C. Darley's works includes prints, drawings, books and photographs. The exhibition traces Darley's career from Philadelphia to New York and finally to his home in Claymont, Delaware. This underscores Darley's leading role as a major illustrator whose imagery parallels contemporary developments in American history and genre painting.
