----------------------------Original message---------------------------- SOUTHERN METHODIST UNIVERSITY NOTICE OF POSITION VACANCY HAMON ARTS LIBRARY POSITION: Part-Time Temporary Fine Arts Reference Librarian, 3 - 8 PM Sunday - Thursday SALARY: $10.00 / hour; 25 hours/week AVAILABLE: Immediately DUTIES: The Fine Arts Reference Librarian staffs the Hamon Library Information Desk, and is responsible for assisting users in the identification, location, use, and interpretation of the Hamon's collections. Prepares paper and electronic handouts and other guides in the use of the Library and its holdings. Assists the Hamon subject specialists in preparing orders, pre-order verification, etc. QUALIFICATIONS: Required: Master of Library Science from an ALA accredited institution; Bachelor's degree in the humanities; familiarity with microcomputer-based technology in libraries; good verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively with faculty and students. Desired: Degree in one of the fine arts; knowledge of one or more of the following languages: French, German, or Italian; one or more years of experience in an academic library.
