Error - unable to initiate communication with LISTSERV (errno=10061, phase=CONNECT, target=127.0.0.1:2306). The server is probably not started. ----------------------------Original message---------------------------- I would be interested in hearing how other libraries are handling/binding soft cover art books. Here at the University of Maryland Art and Architecture Libraries we have always had them bound in plain buckram. We recently experimented with using clear plastic mylar coating over the dust jacket on boards. The books look wonderful - the images and text on the outside of the dust jackets is preserved, our patrons love them, but our preservation department is concerned about quality control (many have had to be sent back to the bindery to be redone), long term preservation issues, and cost (20% more than buckram). Please reply to me...if there is enough interest I will post a summary on the list. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Lynne Woodruff Manager of Art Information Services Art Library University of Maryland College Park, MD 20742 301-405-9065 [log in to unmask] ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
