It is subject libraries, the undergraduate College Library, and the Young Research Lib comprise the UCLA Library System. The Arts Library includes over 225,000 volume extensive special collections of rare books, pictorial matter, manuscripts, and also provides access to a wide range of electronic information resources and dat collections and reading rooms occupy space in two buildings. Staffing includes professional librarians and 7.0 FTE support staff, as well as student employees. DUTIES: Under the general direction of the Head of the Arts and Music Libraries, respons library services and outreach to the faculty and students in the Departments of and Design and to all library users interested in architecture, architectural hi landscape architecture, and design. Collection Development/Management: In these areas, responsible for collection development and management in all media to mee programmatic needs of UCLA. Determines, in coordination with faculty and other the collecting policies of the unit in architecture and design. Selects titles preservation treatment, for special handling, and for transferring to a remote s facility on campus. Works with the Arts Library Special Collections Head to ide develop architectural special materials. Participates in UC-wide shared collect activities. May be given additional collection responsibilities in art history subject fields covered by the Arts Library. Reference: Participates with other providing general arts reference desk service and in-depth reference service as architecture and design. Develops finding aids and guides to the collections t anticipate user needs including appropriate content for the Web, print handouts, multi-media presentations. Instruction: Develops an active instructional progr of libraries and research resources for the Departments of Architecture and Desi general tours, orientations, lectures and interactive user instructional informa Technology: Using information and instructional technology, develops and impleme library services and programs to integrate collections with teaching and researc promote electronic access to resources and interactive user instructional inform Participates in the development of library digital projects and priorities.
