The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of reference and bibliographic instruction services in support of the College's curriculum. Summary of Responsibilities: - Provide reference services and instruction in the application and use of traditional and electronic resources - Provide bibliographic instruction, library orientations, and research workshops to individuals and groups both inside the Library and in classroom/studio environments - Develop reference and instructional materials - Train and schedule library staff and students to assist with the delivery of reference and instructional services, including orientations and tours - Participate in the development and delivery of information literacy instruction, in collaboration with faculty and staff - Participate in the selection of reference materials - Participate in the documentation, assessment and planning of library services - Serve on library and College committees as applicable - Participate in professional activities outside the College - Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications: - ALA-accredited MLS with a bachelor's degree in the visual arts or humanities, or equivalent - 2 years of related work experience, preferably in a post-secondary academic library - In-depth knowledge of art/design history and practices - Strong public-service orientation - Familiarity with traditional and emerging information resources and technologies - Working knowledge of electronic resources and effective search strategies for online database searching - Excellent organizational skills and oral & written communication skills - Teaching experience or knowledge of instructional methods, as well as evidence of active contribution to the library profession, would be assets Hours of Work: A total of 35 hours per week with evening and weekend shifts as required. Summary of Responsibilities: - Provide services at the Circulation Desk using the Dynix Automated Library System - Circulate materials using manual and automated processes - Check materials in and prepare them for reshelving/refiling - Update patron records - Assist patrons at the Circulation Desk - Assist with maintenance of collections and preparation of materials for binding - Assist with Interlibrary Loans and Reserves - Open and close library as required - Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications: - Library Technician's diploma or equivalent - 7 months to 1 year of related work experience, with demonstrated strength in customer service - Strong computer skills, with a working knowledge of the Dynix Automated Library System - Knowledge of art & design - Demonstrated accuracy, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal and communication skills Hours of Work: A total of 35 hours per week with evening and weekend shifts as required.
