Where is our Museum Section Leader? She or he would be the natural leader to construct a letter to the auction houses on our behalf. Although such a letter must be viewed by the Board, a letter with the ARLIS/NA imprimatur would carry some weight. [Since we have no Handbook yet, we cannot readily identify the Moderator]. If no Leader can be found, perhaps one of the Museum librarians on the Board would shepherd this through. I have been unsuccessful in sending faxes to the fax number from here. Also, what do you do for all the auctions that take place in locations other than New York and London (the only ones on the Web? Any help would be appreciated and if there is a general letter to Christies/Sothebey, count me in. This whole process is very time consuming.
