----------------------------Original message---------------------------- Dear Members, The ARLIS/NA Executive Board is preparing a letter to Christie's in response to numerous recent postings on ARLIS-L regarding difficulty in obtaining their auction price results. So that we may alert Christie's to the difficulties that art libraries around the world are having, the letter will summarize the listserv discussions. Christie's management will be encouraged to work together with the art library community so that acquisition and archiving of this crucial documentation remains feasible and accessible, a goal that both Christie's and art libraries no doubt share. The Board recognizes its responsibility to serve as a conduit for its members' concerns and therefore has given this letter a priority.
