----------------------------Original message---------------------------- As it happens I just visited St. Louis for the first time a few weeks ago as I drove to Minnesota for a vacation. I made a special effort to stop there and see the art museum primarily to see some of their Max Beckmans. As it turned out, I also saw an excellent presentation of German artists including contemporary ones, for which I developed a new appreciation. I also saw a little bit of their zoo, located across the park a short ways from the museum. I would have liked to had more time to see and go up the arch; my traveling companion tried but, although he went to the arch about 10 am he could not get on a tour up in it until noon due to space limitations so that was disappointing since we had to hit the road again then. I also would have liked to seen Louis Sullivan's building and their libraries, but as I say due to time limits, had to pass things up for the next trip. I enjoyed the brief time I had there and would be happy for the opportunity to visit again (and I could drive there! ).
