Art History lovers:
If you are vacationing on the east coast this summer, come to the Houghton
Library, Harvard University, to see the exhibition:
John Ruskin: A Centenary Exhibition
open through July 30, 1999
9:00-5:00 Monday-Friday, 9:00-1:00 Saturday
This show, mounted in honor of the Harvard Class of 1959, documents the
life of Ruskin, highlighting first editions and inscribed copies of his
work, manuscripts, and original drawings, with a special emphasis on his
place in 19th-century British culture. Paintings, drawings, photographs,
and my favorite item: a jigsaw puzzle he hand-colored.
