----------------------------Original message---------------------------- At the conference in Vancouver, there was a panel discussion entitled "Is My Artist 'Listed'?" During the discussion that followed, various individuals mentioned online/Internet databases that they had created or were creating that provided detailed information on local artists and local exhibitions...information unavailable elsewhere. We at FAU are going to start such an Internet-accessible database in the coming months, profiling information taken from exhibition catalogs and flyers associated with exhibitions over the past 15 years at our two university galleries. Before we start such an enterprise, I'm curious to see what others have done and hear from others regarding their trials and tribulations in the creation of these databases. Please send URLs as well.
