Here are three more new titles indexed by daai on CD-ROM recommended at the
Vancouver conference

Monthly

ISSN: not known

1975?-. Principal subjects covered: computer graphics=3B computer =
animation

Subtitled 'Innovation in Visual Computing'. Probably the longest running
computer graphics magazine. Contains short, well-illustrated articles on =
all
aspects of computer-generated/digital imagery and interactive design. =
Includes
reports and reviews on new software and hardware=3B profiles of designers,
studios etc=3B a regular product survey.

Surprisingly, one of the few titles in this area to come out of the States =
(I
stand to be corrected). It's good, if a little tired in its format, but not
as good as Computer Arts =5BUK=5D, CGI - Computer Generated Imaging =
=5BUK=5D,
Step-by-Step Electronic Graphics =5BUSA=5D or Design Graphics =
=5BAustralia=5D.

Quarterly

ISSN: 1521-7205

1999-. Principal subjects covered: animation=3B computer animation=3B =
history of
animation

Subtitled 'New World Animation'. Issued by the publishers of the
long-running film magazine,'CineFantastique. Contains medium-length,
well-illustrated articles on all aspects of the animation industry and the =
art
and technique animation. Includes interviews with and profiles of animators,
studios and creatives involved in animation=3B reviews of new films=3B =
reports on
recent developments in animation=3B regular features on the classics of
animation.

Difficult to assess this title as only two issued published so far and only
one issue seen. My personal judgment is that it is already better than
Animation Magazine =5BUSA=5D. We would be interested to know if you are =
aware of
any other titles in this field.

=5F=5F=5F=5F=5F=5F=5F=5F=5F=5F=5F=5F=5F=5F=5F=5F=5F=5F=5F=5F=5F=5F=5F=5F=5F==

Bi-monthly

ISSN: 1087-7614

1994-. Principal subject covered: ceramics

Subtitled 'The Journal of Ceramic Trends and Techniques'. Contains
well-illustrated short articles on (mainly) US ceramics=3B profiles of
ceramists, potteries and workshops=3B interviews=3B technical and =
professional
information and advice.

Possibly not quite yet in the same league as American Ceramics =5BUSA=5D,
Ceramics: Art =26 Perception =5BAustralia=5D, Ceramics Monthly =5BUSA=5D and=
 Ceramic
Review =5BUK=5D, but, for those not familiar with this title, worth looking =
at.

On the subject of ceramics, someone at the Vancouver conference mentioned a
very good Greek ceramics magazine but I didn't take down the title. Does
anyone know what this might be?
