See William Bouguereau 1825-1905 (Paris, Montreal, Hartford, 1984/85)
Centaurs & Lapiths at that time still in a private collection (fig. 6, p.47); your no. 2 was at Musee Municipal, Luneville, (fig. 7, p. 48); no. 3 was at Hotel de la Ville, Tarascon; no. 4, at Ecole des Beaux-Arts (Paris). See the article in the update on Thieme & Becker, ie. Sauer Allgemeines Kuenstlerlexikon, for the last two.

Subject: location of .....

I am trying to locate the museums in which these 4 paintings reside as part
of the collection. The artist is Adolphe William Bouguereau.

1. Combat of the Lapiths and Centaurs (1852; private collection)

2. Le Triomphe du martyre: Le corps de Sainte-Cecile apporte dans les
catacombs (The Triumph of the Martyr: The body of Saint Cecilia Being
Carried into the Catacombs)

3. Napoleon III vistitant les inoldes de Tarascon (Napolean visiting
the floods of Tarascon)

4. Zenobia Found by Shepherds on the Banks of the Araxes

Any information or direction is much appreciated. Thank you.
