Library:   Head Of Acquisitions.  (Search Extended)  Clemson University
Libraries seek an innovative and enthusiastic librarian to manage the
acquisition of monographs, serials, and electronic resources.  Major
Responsibilities:   The Head of the Acquisitions Unit directs all activities of
the unit and reports to the Dean of University Libraries.  Maintains control of
a materials budget of $2.6 million.  Leads a staff of fourteen people(1 faculty
and 13 classified staff) involved in the acquisition of monographs and serials,
binding, and associated fiscal activities.  Qualifications:  Required:   MLS
from and ALA accredited library school and demonstrated experience in
acquisitions and supervision.  Strongly preferred:   At least five years of
experience with acquisitions, serials and financial components of integrated
library systems.  Experience with digital information resources, including the
legal and business issues of digital acquisitions and electronic publishing,
and in negotiating licenses and fees.  Salary range:  $35,000 minimum depending
