----------------------------Original message----------------------------
Dear ARLIS/NA Members,

On behalf of the entire ARLIS/NA Executive Board, I would like to send a
brief message of congratulations to the Vancouver Conference Planners for
hosting an exceptional conference. Many of those who attended have
commented to the Board that the 1999 conference was one of the best ever.
As is often the case with the Society's Conference Planners, the Vancouver
group has once again raised the standards by which we will judge future
conferences. The results of their efforts will no doubt be commented on
favorably for years to come.

The core conference planning team was Holly Marquardt & Ashley Prather
(OMG), Cheryl Siegel, Carole Goldsmith, Kathy Zimon, Diana Cooper, John
Cull, Peter Grewenow, Connie Okada, Brenda Peterson, Mark Jordan, Moira
Steven, Sheila Wallace, Melva J. Dwyer, Stan Shiebert, Daphne Dufresne,
Danuta Zwierciadlowski, and Mary Graham. There were many other members who
contributed from the chapters (primarily Canada and Northwest) and everyone
should be lauded for their tireless efforts. It is impossible to include
everyone, but those who participated should know that their hard work is
greatly appreciated.

For the first time, the American Library Association (ALA) sent a press
representative to cover our conference. Watch for a two-page overview of
the conference in the next issue of American Libraries!

I welcome and encourage conference attendees to share their specific
highlights of the conference on ARLIS-L!
