You should definitely contact VRA members.  They have some very basic, dummy-
friendly publications.  And their members are just as approachable as ARLIS
members.  Of course Betty Jo Irvine's book is a basic text, I believe.  Also,
if you can possibly catalog and organize your slides by logical groups rather
than individually, the battle will be half-won.  On the other hand, there is
some very inexpensive yet sophisticated software available now that just might
make your life a lot easier in the long run.
