Qualifications: Excellent communication and strong organizational skills; Knowledgeable with internet databases and on-line searches; Grant-writing experience and knowledge of cataloging software preferred. MLS required; MA in art history or other advanced degree preferred. Duties and Responsibilities: * Under the direction of the Director/Chief Curator, set all library policy according to the guidelines set by museum administration. * Provide research assistance to staff members, visiting scholars and the public. * Utilize interlibrary loan systems from the Chicago Library System, Archives of American Art and the INFO/DATA PASS program. * Provide cost analysis of library and contribute to departmental budget planning and implementation. * Augment library's collection of approximately 6,000 books, 15 periodicals and slide collection through purchases, subscriptions, exchanges and gifts. * Catalogue all new acquisitions and materials. * Monitor the circulation of all library materials; maintain and develop the library's slide collection.
