As you are aware ARLIS/NA issued an Request for Proposals for management
service providers late last year. The Executive Board has received seven
responses and is now compiling a short list of candidates to interview
prior to the Vancouver conference.

The criteria used for evaluation will include the ARLIS/NA Services and
Standards Guidelines (available on the Web Site), the fiscal implications,
in terms of management fees,  and issues such as the stability of the firm,
affinity to the arts and humanities, staff experience and so on.

The Board needs input from the membership.

1)  Please tell us what in your opinion are the most important 2-3 issues
are that the Executive Board should consider in evaluating service
providers?  For instance, management staff responsibilities, fiscal
implications, publication production etc.

2) Of the following management functional requirements, how would you rank
them in terms of importance to you as a member? (1 most important; 5 least
important)
Finance (maintain Society's finances, assist with budget planning, fundraising)
Meetings and Conference Planning (assist members with management of the
annual conference)
Publications and Communications (provide production & distribution services
for the Society's publications, including the Handbook, brochures, fliers,
etc., press releases, public relations)
Communications Management and Technology (Support Web Site, provide
efficient communications with members)
Membership & Management Information (Monitor, produce, and review the
Society's membership database, provide leadership listservs.)
