Dear Karen: The library at New York School of Interior Design recently acquired a Ricoh Aficio 5206 color copier, with a Copyguard Easycard 2000 system for payment attached. The cards are sold for $5.00 each at the circulation desk. The cost per copy is $1.00, except for those on 11x17-inch paper, which cost $2.00. It is very elaborate, with connections to the AutoCad lab, slide scanning capability, zoom control, and many other features. The jury is still out on its performance. The end of the semester brought considerable use, however, and there were no problems, and the students seemed to have little difficulty negotiating the new machine. In almost all cases, the students' needs were fairly basic, i. e., either single copies of color illustrations or of their own drawings. --Paul Glassman Library New York School of Interior Design 170 East 70th Street New York, New York 10021 (212) 472-1500 x216 (212) 288-6577 Facsimile On Tue, 5 Jan 1999 12:27:48 -0800 Karen Kinney <[log in to unmask]> writes: >I would like to know how many of you have color photocopies in your >libraries.
