Subject: Joan Shelley Rubin Lecture The Graduate Program in Book History at Drew University presents a public lecture: JOAN SHELLEY RUBIN will speak on "Sites, Practices, Values: Exploring Poetry Reading in American Culture" Thursday, February 11, at 5:30 pm Learning Center 28 Drew University, Madison, NJ Joan Shelley Rubin is Professor of History at the University of Rochester. She is the author of "Constance Rourke and American Culture" (1980) and "The Making of Middlebrow Culture" (1992), as well as co-editor of the final volume of "A History of the Book in America." Her talk will be drawn from her current project, a study of poetry and the American reading public from 1880 to 1950. Admission is free, and the general public is welcome. There will be a reception following the lecture, sponsored by the Friends of the Drew University Library. This lecture is funded by a grant from the Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation.
