----------------------------Original message---------------------------- We automated our circulation system some time ago - and bar-coded. [The catalogue was born on a computer as we are quite a young institution] Bar-codes were added, automatically, to the records for items already catalogued. We were able to get "smart" bar-code labels for previously catalogued materials on which were printed the call number and accession number as well as the bar code. These were printed in call number order so all we had to do was to go along the shelf sticking them in - served as a stock-stake at the same time. Margaret J.
