Technical Services Librarian
University of the Arts, University Libraries

Responsible for planning and coordinating libraries' technical services
activities including cataloging, processing, mending and binding; and for
day-to-day operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of libraries'
Innovative Interfaces Inc. integrated online library system, computer
networks, and stand-alone systems. Also responsible for original
cataloging and authority work. Supervises and evaluates two
cataloging/technical services assistants and student assistants. Works
closely with other librarians in planning library-wide operations and
programs. Performs regular reference and library instruction duties.

Requirements include a MLS degree from an ALA-accredited program; a
minimum of 2 years professional cataloging experience including authority
work in an online environment; knowledge of cataloging rules and
procedures, OCLC, AACR2, MARC; experience using an integrated library
system, preferably an INNOPAC system; practical knowledge of computer
systems and hardware, both Mac and PC; and supervisory experience. A
background in the arts, experience managing an integrated library system,
and reference experience preferred.
