----------------------------Original message---------------------------- Pratt Institute, an internationally noted college of art, design, architecture and information and library science, has the following three-tenure track librarian positions available: Art =26 Architecture Librarian - Act as one of two library liaisons to the Schools of Art =26 Design and Architecture. - Assume cooperative responsibility for departmental reference and information service programs, including: library instruction, training and supervision of staff and student assistants, and overseeing visual resources collections. - Collection development in Art =26 Design. - Participate in general reference. Public Services Librarian - Act as part of a team of library liaisons to the Institute=92s classroom instructional departments. - Provide general reference and information services. - Participate in collection development related to the School of Liberal Arts =26 Sciences. - Coordinate interlibrary loan. - Implement programs related to information literacy, including instruction on electronic research. Evening and Weekend Public Services Librarian -Act as part of a team of library liaisons to the Institute=92s classroom instructional departments. -Provide general reference and information services. -Coordinate access services with subject bibliographers related to the circulation department, including processes related to the reserve collection, general inventory, lost books and delinquent patrons. -Participate in collection development. -Facilitate access to print and electronic government information. Qualifications (All Positions): Required: ALA accredited MLS, the ability to work effectively with library faculty, staff, and a culturally diverse clientele, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred: Academic background in art and design, public service experience, and familiarity with a variety of electronic resources. All positions are faculty status and rank. Thirty-five hours weekly during fall and spring semesters with reduced hours during other periods. Salary range: low to mid-thirties. Comprehensive benefits including liberal vacation and TIAA-CREF. Pratt Institute has about 4,000 undergraduate and graduate students. The library is a landmark building on a 25-acre campus in the Clinton Hill section of Brooklyn, with a collection of approximately 160,000 items, more than half in art and architecture.
