        Prof. Monaghan is a leading expert on literacy in colonial
America.  This will be a repeat performance of her James Russell Wiggins
Lecture in the History of the Book, which she will deliver at the American
Antiquarian Society on November 6.

        Admission is free and open to the general public.  There will be a
reception following the lecture, hosted by the Friends of the Drew
University Library.  This lecture is one in a series funded by a grant
from the Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation.
