----------------------------Original message---------------------------- ARLIS DC/MD/VA will hold its fall CHAPTER MEETING OCTOBER 15, 1998, 1:00-4:00 PM Please join us for a program on LIBRARY AUTOMATION AND ELECTRONIC RESOURCES at THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OF AMERICAN ART, WASHINGTON, DC AGENDA 1:00 pm - Panel Discussion ARLIS colleagues, including Roger Lawson and Karen Cassedy, National Gallery of Art, will share their automation experiences. Panelists will address how they defined their automation needs, shopped for a product, how, and upon what basis, a final choice was made, how implementation proceeded, and what experiences they have had since. 2:30 pm - Break and Business Meeting 3:00 pm - Electronic Resources Joan Stahl, Coordinator of Image Collections, NMAA, and Christine Hennessey, Coordinator of Research Databases, NMAA, will present an overview of the unique electronic resources created at the Museum (NMAA Reference Desk, Inventory of American Painting and Sculpture, Library Archives Catalogs, etc.) Included in their presentation will be a dicussion of the issues involved in coordinating projects, standardizing information, and creating easy pathways for users.
