----------------------------Original message---------------------------- The University of Delaware Library's Special Collections is pleased to announce the opening of the exhibition, FOUR DECADES OF LIBRARY SUPPORT: AN EXHIBITION IN CELEBRATION OF THE FORTIETH ANNIVERSARY OF THE UNIVERSITY OF DELAWARE LIBRARY ASSOCIATES. The exhibition will be on view from September 9 until December 16, 1998 in the Special Collections Gallery. A digital version can be viewed by going to the Special Collections website: www.lib.udel.edu/ud/spec FOUR DECADES OF LIBRARY SUPPORT includes some of the rarest and most important books in the Library's collection, focusing on books acquired with the financial support of the University of Delaware Library Associates, the library friends group. This exhibition reflects Special Collection's major collecting areas: literature, science and technology, horticulture, history, the arts, history of books and printing, and Delawariana and includes works from the fifteenth through the twentieth centuries. While each of the books is an individual treasure, each also represents a comprehensive collection. An illustrated catalog of this exhibition is available at a cost of $16 plus $3.50 shipping and handling.
