----------------------------Original message---------------------------- I am pretty sure the painting you want is "The Doctor", 1891, by Sir Luke Fildes, R.A. (1844-1927). The original is in the Tate Gallery in London. There is a black and white reproduction of it in Raymond Lister, Victorian Narrative Paintings, N.Y. Clarkson & Potter, 1966. The doctor sits on a chair at the left of the painting, the child lies on a makeshift bed, behind her is the father, to the right of the father the mother bends over a table, her face buried in her arms. Apparently "it was for many years one of the most popular pictures by an English artist". The artist was also an illustrator.> You would probably have to apply to the Tate Gallery for a good reproduction, or for permission to use the painting in a reproduction.
