I am looking at a picture in the book "Astronomy", by Donald
Menzel (Random, 1970, p.49). The picture shows a medieval landscape
(probably woodcut), with sun and moon in the sky. A man has stuck his
head through the vault of the sky which is covered with stars, and peering
beyond at what appears to be a series of interlocking wheels. Is this the
picture? There is no title or artist cited, only the notation "Bettmann
Archive."
