i'd quibble:  the name doesn't GUARANTEE quality, it IMPLIES quality.  the
dictionary of music and musicians has been the standard resource for more
than a century; the dictionary of art is a class act, too (and this small
land-grant college library was lucky to be able to afford it), but let's
wait and see about that "guarantee."  and let's see if electronic access to
the dictionaries is priced at levels that libraries like mine (in states
like mine) can afford, in our efforts to serve our undergraduate users.  ls.
