Librarian/Instructor Position

The Nevin C. Meinhardt Memorial Library at The Art Institute of Fort
Lauderdale is seeking a Librarian.  AIFL is a private school offering
degrees in a variety of design-based and hospitality programs, such as
computer animation, graphic design, and culinary programs.  The Meinhardt
Library has a collection of approximately 19,000 titles and is currently
staffed by two professional librarians and one paraprofessional.  For

The candidate must possess an MLS degree or its equivalent from an
ALA-accredited institution.  This position is geared towards the
entry-level candidate; however, some form of academic library experience
at the preprofessional or professional level would be helpful.  This
position is a prime opportunity for someone to gather experience in a
variety of library duties, including but not exclusive of Reference
(including bibliographic instruction and searching electronic databases
and the Internet), Collection Development, Circulation, and Interlibrary
Loan (primarily borrowing via OCLC and local libraries, but with the
eventual expansion into lending).  Optional learning opportunities could
include Cataloging (copy cataloging from OCLC and original cataloging),
Acquisitions, and Serials Management.

Requirements:
MLS degree with some form of library experience
Experience in basic web design, basic HTML composition, and Internet
searching

Preferences (but not requirements):
Interlibrary Loan experience through OCLC
Experience searching DIALOG through dial-in or Internet means
