----------------------------Original message---------------------------- For ARLIS members that will be attending the ALA Annual Conference in Washington D.C. I am forwarding some additional information. Greetings. Here are the meeting places for ARTS activities at the D.C. Conference, along with some more details about the program and the General Membership meeting. Please note below that Sunday's General Membership meeting will be held in the Research and Scholars' Center at the National Museum of American Art, which is located across the street from the D.C. Convention Center in the building that houses both the NMAA and the National Portrait Gallery. (I'll send on more specific directions soon for the correct entrance, since we will meet before the Museum actually opens.) The actual membership meeting will begin at 9:30am as usual, but we are invited a half hour earlier, at 9am, for light refreshments and to hear a short presentation about the Research Center/Library by Cecilia Chin and Christine Hennessy. Tours of the facility will be offered at the close of our business meeting, which I promise to make short and efficient enough to get you out at our regular time. We're very grateful for their hospitality, and I hope you all will have the opportunity to attend. Remember also our tradition of a dutch treat lunch immediately after Sunday's membership meeting to acquaint new and old members and to reacquaint us all.
