----------------------------Original message----------------------------
Greetings colleagues,

After a hiatus of one year the conference mentor program is back!
Whether you are a seasoned ARLIS conference veteran or a first (or second)
timer, you have the opportunity to participate as a mentor or "mentee" at
the Philadelphia conference. If you are attending your first or second
national conference and are just beginning to develop your ARLIS network,
the conference mentor program provides an experienced ARLIS member to show
you the ropes and introduce you to your new colleagues. ARLIS veterans,
this is a great way to share your knowledge and contacts. Those requesting
mentors will be matched with those volunteering to serve as mentors by the
Mentor Program Co-ordinator, Peter Blank, based on the information drawn
from following form. ***Mentors should expect to meet with their "mentee"
the first or second day at conference, take time to have lunch or coffee,
discuss the Society, give conference attending tips, and introduce your
"mentee" to their new colleagues whenever possible during the conference.
This is a marvelous opportunity to have a real impact in the organization at
a personal level. New and recent members, please take advantage of ARLIS
veterans as you explore and expand your professional horizons. The annual
conference is exciting, challenging, fun, and over all too soon.
