Interviews possible at CAA or ARLIS. 1) SENIOR CATALOGER (SEARCH REOPENED) Catalog librarian responsible for original and copy cataloging of CJK monographs and works in other languages in the fields of art history and architecture. Reporting to the Head of Technical Services, the successful candidate will create original records and edit RLIN-member copy; make series name authority decisions; provide backup assistance to other monographic catalog librarians as needed; work with the bibliographer in selecting CJK materials for the Libraries' collections; and staff the Libraries' reference desk 2-hour shift per week and rotating evenings/Saturdays. In addition to an ALA-MLS, requirements include: ability to read both Chinese and Japanese; training or experience cataloging CJK monographs; knowledge of AACR2, LCSH, USMARC formats, and DDC; experience using automated library systems; good oral and written communication in English; and the ability to work flexibly and creatively in a changing environment. Preferred: ability to read Korean; experience with RLIN, INNOPAC and the Macintosh operating system; NACO experience; and familiarity with standard reference tools in the fields of art history and architecture.
