> For many of us ARLIS oldtimers, New Orleans holds a special place in
> our hearts because of the wonderful ARLIS/NA conference in 1980. The
> good ol' International Hotel has been postmodernized and Doubletreed.
> Perhaps the Philadelphia Doubletree will find a place in our hearts.
> Or perhaps ARLIS/NA should meet in New Orleans again!

Sherman, I heartily agree! New Orleans was a treat. The weather was wonderful (e
it poured), It has been too long since ARLIS has met there, the opportunities fo
and decorative arts programs are numerous and varied, and for us many foodies, w
oysters morning, noon, and night while sampling other people's gumbos,
jambalayas, po'boys and muffalettas. Could we prevail upon the
Southeast Chapter again, do you think...? --Barbara Sykes-Austin,
Avery Library

(N.B. I did go to the Arts Section meeting but have no report to share)
